First Images of NOA

North Western Argentina | A Work in Progress

In 1894, José A. Ayerza, Federico Leloir, Busch and Juan Montes-Ziegler, members of the now-defunct Argentine Photographic Society, traveled to the northwestern provinces of Córdoba, Tucumán, Salta, and Jujuy. Approximately 200 plates were exposed during the expedition. This images are of an extraordinary historical value.

Documentary Film Fund is now working to restore and conserve the negatives of the NOA expedition for an imminent exhibit and conference. We will continue to update this gallery as the collection becomes available.
