Mr. Morioka has influenced three generations of American artists invluding Joy Brown, focus of a documentary film in progress. Today we heard from Marioka about his experiences in the early 60's with Korean ceramic traditions still being practiced by some in the island of Okinawa.
As we explore the rich world of Japanese ceramics for "The Art of Joy Brown", we are reminded of the deep roots and traditions that have been passed down through generations. Shige Morioka's personal story serves as a testament to the value of preserving these practices and keeping them alive.
